The Wanda Group of China has sold its department stores to retailer Suning.com in its latest move to downsize its wide-ranging operations. Suning, an appliance retailer and e-commerce platform, said that it purchased 37 stores for an undisclosed amount. The stores are mostly in central areas of major cities. Wanda has diversified rapidly in recent years with acquisitions in entertainment, theme parks, sports and other sectors and has been squeezed by heavy debts.
