A piece by Reuters describes the extraordinary development of Amazon which has returned over 8000% to investors over the last 15 years. Founder Jeff Bezos, who owns 16.7% of the company, is now the richest man in the world. The business, which now includes cloud computing, movies, AI, appliance retailing etc. is venturing into newspapers and space travel. It has the ambition to reinvent philanthropy.
