Nordstrom has permanently closed its three Jeffrey specialty stores located in Atlanta, New York City and Palo Alto. Nordstrom bought a majority stake in the Jeffrey luxury stores in 2005, hiring founder Jeffrey Kalinsky at the same time. Kalinsky joined Nordstrom as director of designer merchandising. He later served as executive vice president of designer merchandising and vice president, and subsequently designer fashion director.  Now Kalinsky will be retiring as Jeffrey closes. Closing Jeffrey as well as the 16 full-line stores (announcened on 5 May) is a response to COVID-19 and "ensuring we have the right footprint to best serve customers," Nordstrom said in a statement (read full statement below).
