The 4500 sales associates at Neiman Marcus are issued with a company iPhone which they use to communicate with customers. The store encourages  customers to follow sales associates on social media because "customers attached to a sales associate spend more" according to the CEO, speaking at the NRF conference in New York last week. Associates might post advice on how to dress up jeans for going out or they may alert customers about new items that arrive in the store.
