Holt Renfrew will spend some C$100m on renovating its Montreal flagship, Ogilvy. It will also be renamed Holt Renfrew Ogilvy. It expects the upgrade and expansion to be finished by 2020. Originally planned for earlier completion, the progress of the project was slowed because of the entry of Nordstrom and Saks into the Canadian market. It will include the exclusive shopping area The Apartment; Holt's Café; valet parking;and concierge service. The final store will occupy over 250 000 sq ft since it will expand into the adjacent site of the former Hotel de la Montagne which was demolished. It has been designed by Jeffrey Hutchison & Associates. Ogilvy, founded in 1866, was acquired by Holt Renfrew in 2011.
