Harrods has begun a £200 million redevelopment project to increase its appeal to overseas shoppers visiting the UK to make the most of the weak pound. The total amount will be spent inside the store over the next three years. Work has already started on the food halls, and the watch room will be extended into the basement via a new marble staircase. Last month, Harrods reported its eighth consecutive year of rising profis with sales reaching the £2bn mark for the first time.
