Europe's largest department store group, El Corte Inglés of Spain, has signed a deal with China's Alibaba Group covering retail, logistics and payment. El Corte Inglés will leverage Alibaba's data analytics, and artificial intelligence tools to provide customers with a more personalised experience. It will also benefit from Alibaba's B2C marketplaces (Tmall and Aliexpress) to offer goods in China. Alibaba will benefit from El Corte Inglés' fulfilment capabilities. Aliexpress may also explore the use of El Corte Inglés' distribution centresas collection points for online purchases made through Aliexpress.
