Debenhams UK department store company has announced that it will step up cost-cutting plans, in particular by reducing the complexity of management roles. Thus 320 store management jobs will be cut with redeployment opportunities wherever possible. The company said that the new structure should be fully in place by the end of March. Debenhams, which operates over 240 stores in 27 countries, experienced a difficult holiday season, as did many other UK retailers.
