The IADS participated in the October 2025 virtual meeting organised by the Federation of International Retail Associations (FIRA), of which IADS is an active member. FIRA continues to be a valuable network, providing insightful exchanges and strategic perspectives on the global retail environment.

This virtual session gathered 48 delegates representing 27 national retail federations worldwide. The event offered timely updates and deeper analysis of international trade developments following the London meeting earlier this year.

Given the current economic and political climate, the most engaging discussions focused on the implications of the US tariff regime, its global ripple effects, and the evolving challenges for retailers in Europe and Asia. The meeting also addressed association consolidation, sustainability regulation, and the growing impact of Chinese retail entrants in international markets.
