The 125,000 sq ft store will offer products from over 380 brands, covering activities such as walking, camping, caravanning, watersports, running, fishing, horse riding, and climbing. It will also introduce a new concept café, Alpine Café. The opening has created over 42 new jobs, with 28 staff members transitioning from the old York location. The grand opening weekend on September 7-8 will feature brand ambassador Helen Skelton. CEO Lee Bagnall expressed excitement about this "game-changing flagship store." Additionally, Go Outdoors recently opened a 20,000 sq ft Express store in Gateshead’s Metrocentre, marking its only shopping centre location in the region.
